Tips for New Years Resolutions Regarding Healthy Diet

Kick-start your Healthy Diet with "good carbs" from vegetables, beans, foods high in fiber and without refined starches and sugars. Investigate Quinoa and whole wheat pasta options and incorporate these common carbs into your diet!

Look for foods that keep your blood sugars stable. Foods that have a low glycemic number on the glycemic index have little effect on your blood sugars. Foods such as green vegetables, most fruits, raw carrots, kidney beans, chickpeas, lentils and bran breakfast cereals have a low GI number. Sweet corn, bananas, raw pineapple, raisins, oat breakfast cereals, and multigrain, oat bran rye bread have a Mediim GI number. High GI foods are white rice, white bread and potatoes.

Drink as much water as possible. Not only does it keep your digestive tract moving, clear up skin issues, and keep your cells plump and also replaces lost fluids from a hard work-out!

Sleep 6-8hrs at least...a cranky person who is tired is less likely to work-out and over-eat in order to gain energy to keep moving throughout the day. Make sleep a priority in your life!
